About Southern Heritage Air Foundation
President Patty Mekus of the Southern Heritage Air Foundation has this to say: “… although we use the term “little”, it’s used quite humbly. You will find that out quickly, when you visit our museum and you hear stories of local and regional people who are some of the biggest WWII heroes, along with innovators in aviation. It’s wonderful that we are able to offer a place for their stories of courage, sacrifice, love of country, love of family, and love of God. You walk out of the museum in awe of the men and women you have just learned about, and you walk into a room of… I guess there is no other word except, AWESOMENESS! A room full of the most desired Warbird and Vintage airplanes. Planes that you can still take to the skies! You may have even seen or ridden in one of them at the many fly-overs we do or the other airshows we participate in.”
